An outstanding nineteenth century silk on silk needlework pin cushion, probably worked at the Moravian Academy in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This wonderful floral embroidery is one of the finest we have seen and the condition is near perfect. Circa 1810-30.

 An Unusual and possibly unique silk basket or purse with six sides, each embroidered on one side and inscribed with a notation on the reverse. This piece was a fair-well gift to Julia, a departing student at the Edgeworth Seminary, possibly the one in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 
Skillfully worked with silk, beads and ink on silk the needlework is in excellent condition. American, circa 1840-50.

A very fine and rare eighteenth century marriage pillow with bright cut steel pins decorating the silk damask covering with initials, the date 1772, and designs worked on both sides. Excellent condition, Delaware Valley, Probably Philadelphia.

An elaborate and possibly unique example of needle lace used to create a pin cushion cover. depicted is a figure of an Indian with his bow and arrow on one side and his tepee on the reverse. This is quite an unusual subject for a ladies sewing item. American, circa 1820-40. Silk undercover replaced.

A very intricate work bag and pin cushion with numerous pockets and hidden compartments one of which holds a notebook signed Rachel Fell,1804. Records show that Rachel was born that year in New London, Chester County, Pennsylvania. An identical piece is shown on page 59 of an early CCHS booklet by Schiffer. This beautiful piece was either made by Rachel or given as a gift. Excellent original condition. A remarkable and rare French ivory sewing clamp with a tool holder in the shape of a hand and also a mirror. Beautifully crafted, possibly from Dieppe, circa 1800.
